Testing for HPV DNA has been reported to be highly sensitive in detecting patients with high-grade CIN and cervical cancer and in detecting patients who are likely to have persistent disease after therapy. This is a report of a new method for detecting HPV infection using simultaneous immunophenotyping/ultrasensitive fluorescence in-situ hybridization for HPV E6-E7 mRNA. The flow cytophotometer generated data was compared to PCR detected HPV DNA.
